Kop-Art Berlin'de! ''U Make Me Look Good''

Beni Sen Güzelleştiriyorsun, sahibi olmaksızın sokağın/hayatın bir parçası olan hayvanların ve kendilerini bu hayvanların varoluşuna adayan İstanbul hayvan severlerinin Kop-Artvari bir yaklaşımla ikonlaştırıldığı bir çalışma. İnsan merkezcil olduğu halde sakinlerini bir türlü mutlu edemeyen kent mekanlarının hayvanlarla paylaşılarak güzelleşmesine tanıklık eden Kop-Art, sahipsiz sokak hayvanlarının ‘özgürlüğünü’ tema edinirken, endüstriyel hayvancılığın mallaştırdığı evcil hayvanların ‘özgürleşmesine’ giden yolun etyemezlikten geçtiğinin altını çiziyor.

KOMŞULAR-ARASI 01: Cihangir (İstanbul) – Mitte (Berlin) pojesi kapsamında sergilenecek ‘Beni Sen Güzelleştiriyorsun’, çok katmanlı yapısıyla röportaj ve çekimlerden kurgulanan belgesel ve ozalit enstelasyona, etyemezlik çağrısını ekleyerek, bir p(art)i etkinliğiyle bütünlenecek.

‘U Make Me Look Good’ is about street animals and animal lovers of the city. İstanbul is very well-known by the liveliness of street-animals. Kop-Art is willing to point out how our lives are enriched and beautified by animals’ existence and friendship. Sharing our spaces and means with the city fauna would bind us to the nature that we are longing to be within while shaking and breaking our human-centered perspective. Therefore, the animals and the animal-lovers of our city will be the new icons of Kop-Art.
As a work aiming to be the voice of the animal-lovers who are supporting a more liberated/comfortable life for the street animals, the project is also emphasizing the importance of vegetarianism to stop mass breeding and mass murder of domestic animals by the meat industry.

‘U Make Me Look Good’ is a part of the KOMŞULAR- ARASI 01: Cihangir (İstanbul) – Mitte (Berlin) project. As a multi-facet event, it will be composed of a documentary out of the interviews with animal-lovers, a wheat paste collage to build an animal sanctuary, a call for vegetarianism to invite people for the animal liberation and a p(art)y organization to interact the concept playfully.
